LOGO Designs

I was gonna have some fanciness underneath but not only did it distract but it also competed with the tails of the F and P.
Tried Stacking.

With a little tweaking....

The evolution of a logo. I am done and incredibly happy with this!

Fonts

I thought long and hard about fonts. I have a few faves and I don't mind showing them to you but since time is of the essence I will not show you. For now.

Reason is that as far as fonts go I want to do my own. I figured by designing my own I will not only have control of what I want it to look like but also will be able to give the logo its own rustic and vintage feel. Since I am already hand drawing the rest of the design it will also give it an overall cohesive look.

So now all that's left is for me to show you the sketches, right? Yeah... about that... you'll have to wait till I can get to a scanner later.

Inspirations

I am inspired by the simple and yet intricate swirls of the designs that give these companies instant elegance. The script fonts, too, add to the elegance and vintage feel of a design.

5 Buzz Wrods

So since I was MIA for two weeks and hadn't been able to update this blog, here's my buzz words for my company. Again, here's the current logo or lack thereof and hopefully you will get a sense of what I am going for after you read my buzz words.

1. Elegant. As you walk into Le Cafe Crepe you get a sense of elegance. It is small and homey but the tables are adorned with fresh flowers and white napkins. Dark wood saturates through the room and a warm fireplace at the end of the big room adds a warm quality to the place.

2. Vintage. Or rustic. The bricks in the dining room cover all the walls. That combined with the dark wooden tables and chairs and the sprinkling of lights give the place a vintage atmosphere anyone can fall in love with. It's quite romantic.

3. Romance. There's these beautiful twinkling lights that adorn the place and the darkly lit room give a very romantic feel to the restaurant.

4. Charm. See all of the above.

5. Colorful. OK so maybe not colorful the way you may think, after all it is quite monochromatic
with the browns in the room but the walls are covered in these gorgeous and colorful abstract painting that have been there forever. I want to bring a touch of the color from those paintings into the logo. Even if it's just a smidgen.

Cpmetitor's Logos

I am really not impressed by any of these. Nikolai's Roof has the most elegant design and the cleanest look. Everything else is just boring.

Majorly Cathcing Up

I have no excuses. Ok maybe just one big one. I have been out of town for work for two straight weeks and after major exhaustion and being sick all weekend I still have nothing. So while you wait on me to show you my logo and the ideas behind it here's what has happened since the beginning of the semester.

My Company:
I decided to go with the French Restaurant. I think it needed MAJOR help. I mean this is their site.
And is this even worth being a logo? Or even what is it?

So I think you can see why I went with this company. Previous companies included:

While all had their issues, I was more drawn to the French Restaurant. It need the most work. After all, it was a clean slate. I can do anything with this.
